McNeice's season is over

Tyrone's Paddy McNeice. INPHO
Tyrone forward Paddy McNeice has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Coalisland clubman suffered a broken collarbone during the O'Neill County's two-point All-Ireland SFC quarter-final win over Monaghan at Croke Park on Saturday.

McNeice had entered the fray as a second-half substitute for Joe McMahon but lasted less than ten minutes and was forced off with the unlucky injury.

He spent Saturday night in Dublin's Mater Hospital and is due to undergo surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

He will therefore play no part in Tyrone's forthcoming All-Ireland semi-final against Mayo on August 25th or in a potential All-Ireland final on September 22nd.
