Carlow and Laois footballers have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure.

It would be fair to say that the reaction to having their SF Qualifier at Dr Cullen Park fixed for Friday night, June 28th, has been far from positive!

Carlow's Daniel St Ledger has tweeted: "hard for lads to do a full days work and then try play a knockout championship game ! Nearly have to take a day off.!" (@DanStL89)

And his team-mate Sean Gannon asked an enthusiastic Des Cahill: "What about the lads working in manual labour jobs? Tough day for them" (@CannonGannon9)

Former Laois player Craig Rogers seems to be in agreement: "This Friday night fixture is about GAA finances and with no regard for player welfare or performance!only non players will see it as innovative" (@Rodgie5)

O'Moore County attacker MJ Tierney feels it is ridiculous, typing: "An inter county championship match on a Friday evening... That's hardly right is it???". He adds: "That's absolutely ridiculous no regard for either set of players..." (@Mjtierney13)

Mark Timmons can't understand the logic of it all: "that's the holiday balance from work minus a day anyway.. no sense to it" (@timmo_57)

And defender Peter O'Leary isn't mincing his words: "thats what players face after the years training.. disgrace" and "what a load of shite by the GAA with a Friday night fixture.. shower of clowns running this organisation.." (@poleary7)
