Eoin Bradley is hoping to play a part in Derry's All-Ireland SFC first round qualifier against Sligo on the weekend after next.

The Glenullin attacker was expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks after dislocating his shoulder and collarbone in the Oak Leaf County's Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat to Down a fortnight ago, but could be back sooner than anticipated.

"The Sligo game is still two weeks away and I hope to be back for it," he told hoganstand.com.

"It'll be touch and go, but I'm receiving physio every day and I'm quite hopeful."

Reacting to this morning's All-Ireland qualifier draw, Bradley was pleased to have home advantage.

"It's a home draw and that's the main thing," he said.

"If you get a wee run, you'd never know where you'd end up. We've had good runs in the qualifiers before in 2004 when we reached the All-Ireland semi-final against Kerry, and in 2007 when we should have beaten Dublin in the quarter-final.

"It's good for teams to have a second chance. It wouldn't be right to have just one game after training since last October or November."

Bradley expects Sligo to be like a wounded animal after their shock Connacht SFC exit at the hands of London and Eamonn O'Hara's subsequent criticism of manager Kevin Walsh.

"Sligo will have a point to prove after all that's gone on. Their defeat to London was a freak result and the O'Hara criticism will fire them up even more.

"They're a good team - they won a Connacht championship a few years ago and have beaten the likes of Galway and Mayo in recent years. We were very disappointed to lose to Down, but you have to move on and we'll gather up and regroup as best we can."
