Richie McCarthy was euphoric after Limerick's sensational victory over Tipperary.
The brilliant full back is 25, but hadn't experienced a Munster SHC win before now.
"It's like we're after winning an All-Ireland final," he said in the Irish Daily Mirror.
"The Limerick public is craving this victory. We're not going to get carried away, but it's just a Munster championship victory and we'll look forward to a Munster final now. We're probably the best supported team, but we just needed that victory to get that monkey off our backs. Now we'll just drive on from here."
McCarthy admitted it would have been hard for Limerick to take another provincial championship defeat.
"If you get a Munster final, the least you can look forward to is an All-Ireland quarter-final. If we lost today, it's hard to play the qualifiers.
You need to be playing Munster championship matches to get the most out of yourself. We're going to be playing Cork or Clare - a division ahead of us. We saw their relegation playoff at the Gaelic Grounds going to extra-time - two quality teams."
