Scoring return doesn't worry McCartan

James McCartan doesn't mind where Down's scores come from.

Outside of Donal O'Hare, who posted 2-34 (0-24 from frees) in the Allianz League, the Down attack struggled for scores, but McCartan puts this down to the more defensive system his team has deployed this year.

"It doesn't worry me," the manager told the Irish News ahead of Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Derry.

"When you play a more defensive game, that is going to happen. I don't care where the scores come from."
McCartan looks set to start top-scorer O'Hare in Celtic Park, despite his limited game-time since returning from a hamstring injury.

"Do we take a gamble on him? He is our free-taker. He got a bit of game-time last week and we were delighted with that.

"Donal has put himself back in the mix, and because he is our free-taker, he will probably get a bit more consideration than some other people who are on an equal standing fitness-wise."
