O'Hara: McConville knows nothing about Sligo

Oisin McConville celebrates another Crossmaglen win
Eamonn O'Hara has told Oisin McConville to "stick to commenting about Armagh" after the former Orchard County star criticised him for calling for Kevin Walsh's resignation.

O'Hara, who retired a fortnight ago after being deemed surplus to requirements by Walsh, called on the Sligo manager to quit following last Sunday's shock Connacht SFC first round loss to London.

Giving his reaction to O'Hara's now infamous outburst on The Sunday Game, McConville said in a Monday morning RTE radio interview: "Eamonn has a platform to make those comments. I just felt it sounded as if he had a personal axe to grind with Kevin Walsh.

"One of the points he made that I found strange was that the team went back training in November. Every team goes back training in November unless you win an All-Ireland or get to an All-Ireland final.

"From that point of view, I'm not surprised that Kevin wanted that sort of commitment really, really early on and the fact that Eamonn couldn't give it, obviously Kevin asked him to step aside.

"It came across as a personal axe to grind. As I said, he had that platform and I'm sure Kevin Walsh will have the right to reply very shortly."

But O'Hara has hit back by telling the Sligo Champion: "Oisin knows absolutely nothing about Sligo football he should stick to commenting about Armagh," he told the Sligo Champion.

"This is not personal it's about what's best for Sligo football there's no benefit in Walsh staying as Sligo manager."
