Football top scorers: Mulligan out in front

May 28, 2013

The scores will come
We are only three weekends into the 2013 GAA football championship but Leitrim's Emlyn Mulligan has already put down a strong marker in the top scorers chart.

A haul of 3-7 in Gaelic Park against New York means that even Martin Dunne's impressive tally of 0-9 against Armagh is relegated into second place.

Those two are also the top scorers from play, with Mulligan accounting for 3-2 and Dunne 0-8 away from placed balls.

Mulligan is the top goal scorers so far after his hat trick Stateside while Westmeath's Kieran Gavin has two goals to his name.

It will be interesting to see if Mulligan's tally of 3-7 can be bettered before the end of September as the highest individual score in a game.
