Liberty Insurance to fill sponsorship void

May 06, 2013
The GAA is expected to announce Liberty Insurance as a new title sponsor of the All-Ireland hurling championship.

The American company, which entered the Irish market a couple of years ago, will replace Guinness who ended its 18-year association with the hurling championship last week. The drinks company will, however, retain the pouring rights for bars and restaurants within Croke Park.

"There is no doubt that the GAA has benefited enormously from the marketing expertise of one of the world's most creative companies. We appreciate that all sponsorship has a natural time span, and we are pleased to be taking our association with Guinness in a new direction," Croke Park stadium director Peter McKenna said.

Liberty Insurance will join Etihad Airways and Centra as title sponsors of the All-Ireland hurling championship.
