Conor Gormley is encouraged by the impact Tyrone's emerging stars made during this year's Allianz Football League.

Speaking to the Irish Daily Mirror after the Red Hands' one-point loss to Dublin at Croke Park yesterday, the veteran defender enthused: "Boys have come in, new to the whole set-up and they've really pushed the thing on. They've really livened the thing up the last couple of weeks there.

"They've given new life to Tyrone and I think there's a summer to look forward to for Tyrone supporters."

Gormley was impressed by Conor McAliskey, a last-minute replacement for the unfortunate Stephen O'Neill, who was injured in the warm-up.

"He did very well. He's a good confident lad. Niall Morgan's come in and done really well, the likes of Ronan McNamee and Ryan McKenna have all come in and performed very well, and that's what the pane's there for.

"That was as good a championship match as you'll get. It was fast-paced, it was helter skelter. It was a really fast game and great preparation for championship."
