Armagh's championship preparations have received a timely boost with the earlier than expected return of Jamie Clarke from his travels abroad.

The Crossmaglen ace has visited Australia and South America but returned this week and will link up with the Orchard County squad for a weekend training camp.

"Jamie had given an undertaking that he would return for the championship but it is a bonus that he is now back quite early and will be fully engaged in our training programme over the next month in preparation for the championship," Grimley explained to The Irish Examiner.

"Obviously he played a big part in our league campaign for the period that he was available to us and we are hopeful that he will replicate the form that he showed then."

Armagh will face Cavan in the Ulster SFC preliminary round on Sunday, May 19 in Kingspan Breffni Park. Tweet
