Cookstown and Finuge to learn their fate

Cookstown and Finuge will learn this week if they're to be punished for their All-Ireland fall-out.

The Tyrone intermediate champions defeated the Kerry IFC winners in February's All-Ireland intermediate club football championship final at Croke Park, but their fall-out after the game received much more press coverage than the actual match itself.

A storm brewed up when it emerged that Kerry star Paul Galvin had allegedly been spat upon by an opponent during the final, while Tyrone's Owen Mulligan claimed the Fr Rocks players were subjected to "vile sectarian abuse".

The Central Competitions Control Committee has since investigated the controversy and will delivery its verdict later this week.

While allegations of spitting and verbal abuse will be difficult to substantiate, both clubs are likely to be fined for bringing the Association into disrepute.
