Newcastle West 0-10 aet
After the excitement of a gripping replay last Sunday, Drom-Broadford claimed the Limerick SFC title with a two point win over Newcastle West in a tense replay at Pairc na nGael on Friday night.
The invasion by a supporter claimed most of the headline last weekend, which overshadowed the quality of the drawn game. This replay was much more tense, with the sides sharing just fourteen scores at the end of normal time (0-7 each), sending the tie to extra time.
Newcastle West led 0-4 to 0-3 at the break with Derry McCarthy's late score edging them in front, but in an ominous sign, Michael Reidy was in dangerous form for DB.
Stephen Kelly added to Newcastle West's advantage but Drom leveled. The sides exchanged scores before Jamie Lee gave Newcastle West the lead near the death, only for Garrett Noonan to level it up once more in injury time and send the game to extra time.
The sides were level at 0-9 each after the first additional ten minute period but Drom Broadford finished strongly and with Reidy landing two vital scores, took the honours.
