Roscommon SHC final: five-in-a-row for Four Roads
October 15, 2012
Four Roads 1-12
Padraig Pearses 1-9
Enda Rogerson scored 1-7 as Four Roads completed a five-in-a-row of Roscommon SHC title wins with a three-point win over Padraig Pearses in Saturday's replay at Athleague.
For Padraig Pearses, who were seeking their first title since 1987, it was the start of a weekend to forget as their footballers also lost yesterday's county final to local rivals St. Brigid's.
The Woodmount outfit were looking good for victory when Michael Donoghue's goal put them four points clear a minute after the restart, but the holders dug deep and never looked back after Rogerson netted in the 42nd minute.
