Walsh primed for "biggest challenge"

Galway manager Kevin Walsh
Kevin Walsh accepts that Mayo will present Sligo with their "biggest challenge" of the year so far.

Speaking to The Sligo Champion ahead of Sunday's Connacht SFC final at Dr Hyde Park, the Yeats County boss said:

"Mayo appear to have moved on to a new level this year. There's a hardness to their game which hasn't been there for a while and they also displayed a ruthless streak when accounting for Leitrim in the semi-final.

"They have loads of experience of winning big matches, they are the reigning champions, and they are going into the final with massive momentum behind them.

"So it's a huge ask for us and unquestionably the biggest challenge we've faced this year.

"The lads have worked extremely hard all year and deserve to be in the final. In many ways, this is bonus territory for us but we've got a fighting chance if we deliver a big performance."
