Changes to Cloghan clubhouse opening schedule
May 26, 2012
There have been two significant changes to this weekend's official opening of St. Rynagh's football club's new clubhouse in Cloghan, Co. Offaly.
It was previously publicised that the new clubrooms would be officially opened by GAA president Liam O'Neill today at 6pm, and would be followed by a SF challenge between Offaly and Longford. But it has now emerged that the opening has been put back to 4.45pm on Sunday.
In another change, Offaly's opponents will now be neighbours Westmeath who had originally been lined up to play in the fixture, only to withdraw in the wake of their heartbreaking Leinster SFC exit at the hands of Louth last Sunday. Longford had agreed to step into the breach, but have decided not to run the risk of picking up injuries ahead of their Leinster SFC quarter-final against Wexford in Croke Park on Sunday week.
Westmeath, who don't play in the All-Ireland qualifiers until June 30, have now agreed to be the Faithful County's opponents. The game throws-in at 6pm.
