Brady gives McGarrity decision thumbs up

Down's Marty Clarke gets in his pass as Mayo's Ronan McGarrity attempts to block during the NFL round 1 clash at Castlebar.
Former Mayo footballer David Brady has hailed the decision to bring back Ronan McGarrity.

Brady and McGarrity played together at both club and county level and the now TV3 pundit feels that Mayo manager James Horan made the right choice in bringing a player of McGarrity's experience back into the squad.

"You'll never regret having him there, you'll only regret not having him there, Brady stressed to the Mayo News. "Ronan has seven or eight years experience under his belt and that is something you can't compensate for.

"If you look at the league final against Cork, having someone like Ronan might have been the ingredient that we were missing. We needed someone to take control of the game and he might have been the man. It's a no-lose situation."
