Creedon takes heart from minors
May 16, 2012
Peter Creedon believes a Tipperary victory over Cork in tonight's Munster MFC semi-final would be another boost for football in the Premier County.
As reigning All-Ireland champions, Tipp expect to win in Pairc Ui Chaoimh - something that would have been unimaginable during the current Tipp senior manager's time in charge of the minors nearly a decade ago.
"They beat Kerry comprehensively in Tralee. A lot of our underage players have never lost to Cork or Kerry," he points out in The Irish Daily Star.
"I know the underage doesn't always transfer to senior either because you are looking at serious quality in Kerry and Cork. But the quirks in the draw mean they have to play Cork. They will be going down to play Cork expecting to win the match.
"It's possible Tipp can be like Limerick a few years ago where they are there or thereabouts, you need a lucky break to get over the line."
