Relief for Sutcliffe

Dublin's Danny Sutcliffe
Danny Sutcliffe is on course to play in Dublin's Leinster SHC quarter-final against either Laois or Carlow on June 2 after an X-ray showed that his hand injury wasn't as serious as first feared.

The 20-year-old, who made a big impact during the Allianz League, was thought to have suffered a broken hand during a recent challenge match against Limerick in Cappamore but, much to his relief, this hasn't proved to be the case.

"There was no fracture anyway," he told The Irish Daily Star.

"That was the worst case scenario. I've been ticking over and kept running and keeping the fitness up. It's just a case of getting a hurley back in my hand in the next few days."
