Limerick refs asked for PPS numbers

Tipp refs could withdraw services
Limerick referees have reportedly been asked to give their PPS numbers to the County Board.
According to the Examiner this morning, the latest twist in the referees payments controversy follows a request for the Personal Public Service numbers from treasurer Owen Hayes, which the referees have been told is necessary if they are to retain their 2011 rates.
The intention of the Board is to then pay the match officials' taxes for them and bill the clubs for their services.
Understandably, referees are not happy about the idea of handing over their PPS numbers. At a referees meeting in the Gaelic Grounds last night, the PPS matter wasn't mentioned.
