Ruislip to receive upgrade

London's Donal Conlon chases after Nicky Joyce of Galway during the Connacht SFC tie at Ruislip
The redevelopment of London's home grounds at Ruislip is the main priority of new chairman Noel O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan took over the top seat from Tommy Harrell at last month's county convention and immediately his focus has turned to the upgrade of the existing grounds at Ruislip.

Plans have been in place to carry out some redevelopment work on the grounds for a number of years now and although Croke Park and the Department of Foreign Affairs have pledged €600,000 to the project, the London County Board must raise €300,000 themselves before any monies are released.

"The priority will be getting Ruislip done up, there's no doubt about it," O'Sullivan stressed to the Irish Post. In this day and age it has to be improved, especially the pitch. It's no good in the winter time when it takes on any rain so that would certainly be my number one priority."

"If the work could be done between October and May I think that would be a better option because we really would want to keep the pitch available for our domestic competitions. I wouldn't like to lose out on that."
