John Healy prepares to kick out for Mayo in the 2006 NFL
Ballina player-manager John Healy was so eager to stay in touch with his selectors while playing against Breaffy in the Mayo SFC last weekend that he used a mobile phone from his position in goals.

Healy has helped guide the former All-Ireland SFC club champions to the quarter-final where they played Breaffy last weekend. The match ended in a draw and the Ballina player-manager played his part by making a string of fine saves.

However, when the action was at the far end of the field, Healy was on the phone to his selectors in order to ensure that the necessary decisions were made off the field.

The sides meet in the replay this weekend at McHale Park and all eyes will be on Healy to see if he opts to use modern technology to keep in touch with his selectors once more.
