Donegal captain Michael Murphy was hugely impressed by Dublin's destruction of Tyrone in last Saturday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final, and is under no illusions about the task facing his team in the semi-final in three weeks' time.

"Dublin were very, very impressive. They played very, very well," he said after his club Glenswilly's 0-9 apiece draw with St. Eunan's in the Donegal SFC at the weekend.

"We played Tyrone ourselves and know what they possess, but Dublin really blew them out of the water. It's going to be a massive challenge for us, but one we're looking forward to," added Murphy, who hopes to resume full training with the Ulster champions this week after a hamstring injury curtailed his involvement in the All-Ireland quarter-final win over Kildare.

Murphy's attacking colleague Colm McFadden was also gushing in his praise of the Dubs when interviewed after St. Michael's Donegal SFC quarter-final win over Kevin Cassidy's Gweedore.

"Dublin were very impressive - they were kicking points from everywhere. I don't know if any team has ever scored 22 points against Tyrone before. We have a lot of work to do, but hopefully they won't be as sharp the next day," he said.

Meanwhile, Donegal chairman PJ McGowan described Dublin's performance as "absolutely devastating".

"If they play as well as that in the All-Ireland semi-final we could be in a spot of bother, but it's not easy putting two performances of that quality back-to-back," the former Donegal manager pointed out.

"I think they might find us to be a different proposition. Obviously, Dublin will be rank favourites and we'd love that because it's a nice way to be going into a semi-final." Tweet
