Johnny Coen and Barry Daly will make their first championship starts for Galway in tomorrow's Leinster SHC quarter-final against Westmeath.

The pair, who formed the Galway midfield partnership in last year's All-Ireland U21 campaign, are named at right half back and right half forward respectively.

As expected, Joe Canning misses out because of a hamstring injury, while Iarla Tannian and Ger Farragher are also injured. Damien Hayes is passed fit, however, but there is no starting place for the experienced Alan Kerins, despite his recent recall to the squad.

Meanwhile, Fergal Moore makes a welcome championship return to a side that bears no resemblance to that which lost last year's All-Ireland quarter-final to Tipperary.
