Corbett praise for revitalised O'Dwyer

Dublin's Ryan O'Dwyer celebrates at the final whistle.
Lar Corbett believes former Tipperary team-mate Ryan O'Dwyer's move to Dublin has given him a new lease of life.

The Cashel man produced a man of the match performance in Dublin's stunning NHL final victory over Kilkenny, having failed to make an impact during his time with the Premier County.

"When Ryan O'Dwyer was with Tipperary he was a very hard, tough, physical player and you can see that he's after stepping up another gear in the Dublin set-up," Hurler of the Year Corbett said yesterday.

"He looks like a leader on the field and not only that, the scores that he's getting are brilliant. The first point from play he got against Kilkenny was unbelievable.

"Looking at the league final, before the match was over an awful lot of people were saying Ryan was going to get man of the match. He got that and it was well deserved.

"Sometimes when a player does change either club or county, you can see their hurling career or football career take a life of its own. That's exactly what's after happening for Ryan in a positive way and it's great to see it."
