Mannion eyes more silverware
November 17, 2010
St. Brigid's Karol Mannion is hoping to add a Connacht club medal to the Connacht SFC and Roscommon SFC medals he has already won this year.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's AIB Connacht club final against Killererin, the experienced midfielder said: "I suppose not too many Roscommon players have won an inter-county provincial title, their own club county championship and then a club provincial title, so if we could win on Sunday it would definitely be the greatest year of my career.
"People are saying that Sunday's game is a contrast of styles, with Killererin opting for a defensive approach, and us looking to attack at every opportunity. But it's not that simple. We can't go out and think that we can play a full-on attacking game.
"We have to be fully aware of what Killererin can do and I think they're a better team than the Killererin side we faced in 2007. This is going to be a massive challenge for us, but hopefully we'll prove we're a better football team on the day."
