We are sorry to report the tragic death of Liam Tolan which occured just after midnight.Some hours previous Liam had lined out for the Meath minors in the Leinster championship.

Liam was a passenger in a car which crashed near Ashbourne.

Blond haired Liam was a member of the Skryne club and on Saturday afternoon had played as a corner forward for the Meath minors against Offaly in the Leinster championship. He scored a point in that game and was involved in the lead up to the Meath goal.

An extremely fast and tricky forward Liam was on the Meath team which obtained Leinster Senior Vocational honours earlier on in the year and had also lined out for the Royal minors in 2009.In that same year he also represented his school Ashbourne in the All Ireland Senior Vocational decider.
