McCarthy's fate to be decided next week

Justin McCarthy
Justin McCarthy is set to discover his future as manager of the Limerick senior hurling team next week at a specially convened county board meeting.

Limerick officials last night confirmed that they had received the required amount of request from clubs (five) to seek a meeting which is expected to feature a vote of no confidence in the manager, whom most of last year's panel have refused to play under this year.

While no date has been officially been decided yet, it is expected that clubs and the board will meet next Tuesday to decide McCarthy's future.

Meanwhile, the Shannonsiders have named their team for Sunday's Division One clash against neighbours Tipperary at the Gaelic Grounds.
