Kilmurry Ilbrickans Noel Downes
Kilmurry-Ibrickane have been dealt a massive boost with the news that Noel Downes is fit to line-out in tomorrow's All-Ireland club SFC final against St Gall's.
There where fears that Downes would miss the Croke Park decider after sustaining a shoulder injury during the Clare champions' semi-final victory over Portlaoise, but it has been confirmed that the ace attacker will be fit and available for selection for manager Michael McDermott.
Meanwhile, team captain Enda Coughlan has stated that he and his team-mate will have to be at the top of their game if they are to halt St Gall's charge and claim their first ever All-Ireland club success.
"We played Antrim in 2005 with Clare when Donie Buckley was over us and beat them up in Belfast. Since then they've given us a few hidings, we played them last year up in Antrim and they beat us well. The year before we played them and they gave us a nice beating," said Coughlan.
"Looking at how Antrim have improved over the last few years, it's no surprise to me that St Gall's are in the final. If we're not at the top of our game to beat them, we won't be anywhere near them."
