Kilcoo (Down) 0-13 St Eunan's (Donegal) 0-9 Newcomers Kilcoo sent Donegal kingpins St Eunan's crashing out of this year's Ulster club senior football championship with an unwavering performance at Pairc Esler yesterday afternoon. The Down champions were led to victory by the left foot of their centre-forward Anthony Devlin, who notched 0-6 over the hour, which proved decisive in a four-point victory and for a place in the last four of the province. It was Devlin who had opened the scoring after six minutes when Devlin had drilled a '45' between the posts. Down the other end, Brendan Devenney twice narrowly missed with shots at goal, before the Eunan's ace levelled with his only point of the game on 13 minutes. The Donegal men opened up a 0-3 to 0-1 lead thereafter through Conal Dunne's frees, but Kilcoo only started to find their rhythm from the second quarter onwards as midfielder Michael McClean cracked over an impressive score and Devlin pointed the way towards a 0-6 to 0-4 lead for the Magpies. Early on in the restart, Dunne narrowed the gap down to one with a simple free, but effort from Barry Kane and Donal Kane (free) moved Kilcoo into a three-point lead. Another Kane, Stephen, soon came to the winners' rescue though, as he saved Cillian Morrison's goal-bound effort which would have squared the sides. Dunne and Mark McGowan raised white flags, which were cancelled out by Devlin as the difference remained at three. The latter grabbed his fifth score moments later, but points from Kevin Rafferty and substitute Ciaran Sharkey kept the visitors in touch. However, a mistake at the back from Eunan's let veteran full-forward Anthony Devlin in for a score and it was Paul that rounded off a five-star performance with an injury-time free to upset the odds and send Kilcoo into the semi-finals, where they face another stern test against Derry champions Loup.
