McGuinness wary of Armagh's physicality

Jim McGuinness doesn't think it's any coincidence that Armagh are “one of the most physical teams in the country”.

Their physicality reminds McGuinness of his Orchard County counterpart Kieran McGeeney during his playing days.

"It's unusual now to have that massive physical profile across a team but I would suggest this Armagh team is probably one of the biggest and most physical teams in the country,” the Donegal manager told BBC NI ahead of Sunday’s Ulster SFC final.

"Maybe that’s down to the manager. The manager was one of the most physical players."

McGuinness failed to lift the Anglo-Celt during his previous tenure as manager a decade ago and is hoping to put that right.

"We’ve been in a lot of finals over the last 10 or 15 years, but it’s been a while since we’ve won one now," he said.

"We want to do that and Armagh have been building that squad for a number of years now and they probably feel they are ready to go and win it. Even though we’re coming from slightly different places, it’s the exact same thing in both camps."
