Paddy Small would have no issue with Dublin playing more championship games outside Croke Park.

Many felt Dublin’s last two matches against Meath and Offaly should have been played at provincial venues where the atmosphere would have been considerably better and full houses would have been guaranteed.

“For me personally, I love travelling. Going around the country. Getting into different stadiums, different environments, different buzz, different counties,” the Dublin forward told reporters at the launch of Insomnia’s partnership with the GAA / GPA this week.

“As players, we love playing in those packed-out arenas where the atmosphere is at its highest. It’s a phenomenal experience. I know especially from a Dublin side, the supporters are always great at travelling.

“I know as a supporter myself, those big weekends away; Cork, Kerry, down to Meath – whatever it might be, those games with that atmosphere are the ones you relish the most.”

He added: “As players, we can only focus on the actual task at hand. Where we’re playing, where we are. The external stuff around it, we don’t have much control on it.”
