Donegal rocked Derry with four well-timed goals this evening to usher themselves into the semi-finals of the Ulster senior football championship.

It finished 4-11 to 0-17 at Celtic Park, where Daire Ó Baoill (2), Oisin Gallen (penalty) and Jamie Brennan all found the net for the visitors to help dethrone the Oak Leafers of their provincial crown.

Both of Ó Baoill’s goals would be lobbed over the head of a scrambling back Odhran Lynch, with the Gaoth Dobhair clubman’s second major extending the Donegal advantage to 2-7 to 0-9 two minutes into the second-half.

The margin was still at four when another Tir Chonaill break resulted in a goal. This time Shane O'Donnell was impeded by Chrissy McKaigue in the square and Oisin Gallen expertly tucked away the resultant penalty.

The Division 1 champions hit three unanswered points via Lachlan Murray, Shane McGuigan (free) and Gareth McKinless to keep the heat on, but it was ‘game, set and match’ once Brennan finished a break to the roof of the home side’s net in the 63rd minute.
