Eglish St Patrick's GAC in Tyrone has announced a suspension of all activities in the club after one of their senior players tested positive for Covid-19.
It comes two days after they played their opening game of the ACFL Division 1 campaign against neighbours Aghaloo.
Under GAA Covid-19 protocols, if a player has tested positive for coronavirus within 48 hours of a game, then each member of their team and management is considered a Close Contact and must also self isolate until advised otherwise by public health authorities. Members of the opposing team may also be required to self-isolate until a full Close Contact assessment and tests are carried out.
The news was confirmed in a statement by Eglish St Patrick's GAC this afternoon: "The committee of CLG An Eaglais Naomh Pádraig have been made aware of a positive Covid-19 test result from a member of our club senior team."
"As a result the club have suspended all activity in all age groups and codes. The committee have informed CLG Tír Eoghain and Páirc an Chrócaigh and will be acting on the guidelines issed by CLG Tír Eoghain.
"The club has at all times since resuming activities adhered to GAA and Public Health guidelines and regards the health and well being of our members and community as paramount in everything we do.
"The club will be making no futher comment on this matter."
