Carlow GAA has apologised after it was forced to reschedule its 'Win a House' draw for a third time due to not reaching ticket sale quotas.

The county board came in for criticism on social media after the draw for the €250,000 house in Carlow was twice postponed over the Christmas period, having previously been postponed on October 6. It has now been pushed back to Easter Saturday, April 18.

To date, 2,050 tickets, costing €100 each, have been sold, which is 450 short of the minimum quota of 2,500.

A statement from Carlow GAA read: “Due to sales not yet reaching the minimum quota we are rescheduling our Win a House draw until Easter Saturday 2020.

“Running the draw on New Year’s Eve would incur a €45,000 loss, which a small GAA county such as Carlow simply cannot absorb. Apologies for any inconvenience and we look forward to holding the draw in April."
