Tulsk were crowned Roscommon intermediate football champions for the first time since 1984 after beating Oran 4-2 on penalties in an historic final replay at Hyde Park yesterday.
The sides were level 0-11 each at full-time and 0-14 apiece after extra-time, with Oran having come from behind in both normal time and extra-time to equalise through points from Darragh Walsh (free) and Thomas Fetherstone. But the Lord Edwards eventually prevailed on spot kicks with centre forward Thomas O'Rourke producing a man of the match performance.
The same method was also used to decide the Galway IFC final replay between Oughterard and Mícheál Breathnach last weekend.
