2019 will go down as a year to remember for all associated with Naas hurling.
They finished with three points to spare over Coill Dubh (0-15 to 0-12) in today’s SHC final to complete the clean sweep (MHC, JHC and IHC titles) in Kildare.
It was their first senior success since 2002 and full-forward Brian Byrne’s accuracy from placed balls was a key ingredient in their winning formula.
He finished with 0-8 to his name and they led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the change of ends
The Naas minors had shown their senior counterparts the way by defeating Maynooth 2-14 to 1-8 in the curtain-raiser.
