Cahill confirmed as new Waterford manager

Liam Cahill is the new Waterford senior hurling manager.

Cahill stepped down from his role’s Tipperary U20 hurling manager last week as it was speculated that he was about to take on the Waterford senior vacancy.

He steered Tipp to an inaugural U20 All-Ireland title last month having managed the U21's to similar success in 2018. He also guided the Premier County to All-Ireland minor glory in 2016.

He succeeds Paraic Fanning in the role after the latter’s decision to step down following just one season in charge with the Deise men.

Cahill was as An All Star attacker during Tipp’s All-Ireland success of 2001,
