PwC GAA/GPA Players of the Month for May... Cavan footballer Martin Reilly and Cork hurler Patrick Horgan.

Cavan footballer Martin Reilly and Cork hurler Patrick Horgan have been named the PwC GAA/GPA Players of the Month for May.

GAA President John Horan and GPA Chief Executive Paul Flynn joined PwC Managing Partner Feargal O’Rourke in making today’s presentation.

Reilly starred in Cavan’s first Ulster Championship victory over neighbours Monaghan in 18 years, with his crucial first-half penalty leading the way for Cavan.

Meanwhile, Horgan was central to Cork’s resurgence in the Munster Championship round robin, following up a disappointing opening round defeat with a convincing win over All-Ireland champions, Limerick.

John Horan said: “Congratulations to our Player of the Month winners for May and best of luck to both of them for their respective summer campaigns.

“Martin has brilliantly exemplified the spirit of this young Cavan side who are sure to have an exciting summer ahead. Meanwhile, Patrick has continued his excellent form into the new season and I have no doubt, he will have a big say in how this year’s hurling championship unfolds.”

Paul Flynn added” “Congratulations to both Martin and Patrick on winning their respective awards. Both players have performed to exceptionally high levels on the pitch in recent games and are deserving winners of the PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Awards for May.”
