Offaly 1-23
Westmeath 0-9
The maiden Leinster U20 Hurling Championship game saw Offaly inflict a heavy defeat on neighbours Westmeath.
The result may have been different between the two counties at the same venue two weeks ago but there was never any doubt about this tie in TEG Cusack Park.
The home side grabbed the first point but a run of scores from the Faithful saw them lead by 0-15 to 0-4 at the interval, with Cathal Kiely in exceptional scoring form.
Ten minutes before the end Offaly got the goal they deserved when substitute Cillian Ryan hit the three pointer and the winners now go on face Carlow.
