Selector Niall O'Callaghan admitted that Dr Crokes were outclassed by Corofin in yesterday's All-Ireland club SFC final.

What was expected to be a close encounter between the last two All-Ireland champions turned into a cakewalk for a magnificent Corofin team who retained the Andy Merrigan Cup with 12 points to spare.

"We got schooled by the best team," O'Callaghan told Sky Sports.

"You can say nothing went right and you can give all the platitudes and excuses you want to give. We were beaten by a far better team. Congratulations to Corofin. They showed us how to play a game of football.

"They're a serious outfit and they're All-Ireland champions and they're not for nothing. We hold our hands up when we're beaten by the better team.

"I can't tell you what went wrong or anything you want but at the end of the day, we came in today with no excuses, none whatsoever. Every fella was fit, every fella was training. We were confident coming in and at the end of the day Corofin beat us. They played us better, they took away our strengths, they played really good football."
