Clare inflicted more misery on Cork when dishing out a 3-13 to 1-10 beating at Ennis.

David Tubridy (1-7) got the hosts off to a perfect start when he palmed to the net in the opening minute and Conal O hAinifein's goal made it 2-1 to 0-1 with only five minutes played.

It was all Clare and further scores from Tubridy, Dale Masterson, Dean Ryan and Conor Finucane sent in at the break with a 2-6 to 0-6 advantage. Ian Maguire’s fisted goal gave the struggling Leesiders feint hope when the action resumed but Tubridy’s seventh point pushed the gap back out to five, 2-10 to 1-8, and they remained on the front foot, substitute Kieran Malone adding their third three-pointer late on.

Victory moves Clare up to fourth on the congested Division Two table, while the Rebel County have been cut adrift at the bottom and are in serious danger of ending up in the third division.
