Former Sligo star Noel McGuire is looking forward to returning to Croke Park with his beloved Easkey.

Easkey will make history next month when they become the first Sligo club to play in an All-Ireland final following their 1-8 to 0-9 All-Ireland club JFC semi-final victory over Red Hugh's of Donegal in Ballinamore yesterday.

The west Sligo outfit will face Kerry side Beaufort in the decider and full back McGuire, who captained the Yeats County to Connacht SFC glory in 2007, cannot wait.

"It's hard to sum it up," he told the Western People.

"Thirteen or 14 months ago, we were relegated to junior football and to turn it around, win a Sligo championship, win a Connacht championship and now be going to Croke Park - it's the stuff you dream about.

"For everyone in the club, not alone the players but the whole parish, it's just going to be a unique occasion for everybody travelling to Croke Park.

"To step out on that sod with these players - I've done it a few times before, but never with my neighbours and my closest friends. It's going to be something out of this world."
