Seamus Harnedy will continue as Cork hurling captain in 2019.

Harnedy skippered the Rebels to Munster SHC glory this summer, but disappointment followed when they were beaten by Limerick after extra-time in the All-Ireland semi-final. Bill Cooper has also been retained as vice-captain.

Meanwhile, Daniel Dooley (Bride Rovers), Ger Collins (Ballinhassig), Robert Downey (Glen Rovers), Ger Millerick (Fr O'Neill's), Conor Cahalane (St Finbarr's), Michael O'Halloran (Blackrock) and David Lowney (Clonakilty) are among those who have received call-ups ahead of the start of the Munster League next month.

There are also recalls for Cormac Murphy (Mallow), Stephen McDonnell (Glen Rovers) and former All Star footballer Aidan Walsh (Kanturk). 

“We looked at the panel and we looked at players that would bring something different to the thing," Cork manager John Meyler told the Evening Echo.

“I spoke to Stephen McDonnell and he has given a commitment for next year, Cormac Murphy played really well in the intermediate final against Kilkenny, he’s in, Aidan Walsh is in and then I have brought in a few of the minors of 2017."
