It looks like Kildare won't have any time to prepare for their upcoming O'Byrne Cup campaign.
When the Leinster Council decided to bring forward the start of their pre-season football competition to December 8, they clearly overlooked the fact that the Lilywhites' winter training ban doesn't end until the same day! Cian O'Neill's men aren't permitted to return to collective training until then after reaching the Super 8s, meaning that unless they flaunt the training ban, they will have no preparation done for their first round clash with neighbours Offaly.
Having reached the All-Ireland final, Dublin's winter training ban doesn't expire until later in December, but they have received a bye into the semi-finals which don't take place until January 12.
TweetHaven't seen anyone highlight this, but Kildare's winter training ban ends on December 8th this year. They are due to play Offaly in the first round of the O'Byrne Cup on December 8th. Cian O'Neill says the panel 'might meet for a cup of tea beforehand'. Farcical organising
