Former Mayo manager Stephen Rochford has joined Donegal’s senior football backroom team as a selector.
Rochford resigned from his post as Mayo boss in August after three seasons in charge, leading the team to back-to-back All-Ireland SFC final appearances in 2016 and 2017.
He comes on board with the Ulster champions under manager Declan Bonner as coach and selector, replacing former All Star winner Karl Lacey in the set-up.
Donegal county board released the following statement this afternoon confirming the news:
"CLG Dún na nGall wish to announce that following our successful year of 2018 that the following Coaching and Mentoring personnel of Karl Lacey, Anthony McGrath, and John Mc Elhome shall leave the Senior Football backroom team. We thank them for their committed dedication to the development of our County squad.
"We further announce that Stephen Rochford and Aaron Kyles shall join Declan Bonner's coaching staff for 2019, we welcome both, and look forward to their involvement."
