Four points was the difference as Eire Og overcame Palatine to lift the Carlow SFC title for the 28th time in their illustrious history.
The Netwatch Cullen Park scoreboard read Eire Og 0-9, Palatine 0-5 when proceedings were brought to an end in today’s county decider.
Palatine had two points on the board before Murtough Ware opened Eire Og’s account and the sides were deadlocked on 0-4 apiece after the curtain came down on the first-half.
The town team subsequently took over in pole position when hitting three points without reply through Evan Kelly, Simon Rea and Niall Quinlan.
The Niall Carew coached Palatine only registered a solitary point in the second-half and substitute Quinlan tagged on a brace of scores to round off a memorable day for Eire Og.
