JP McManus

A Mayo hurling club has expressed its disappointment at being informed that it won't receive a cent of the money donated by JP McManus to its county board.

The Limerick businessman has donated €100,000 to every GAA county board in Ireland, to be divided equally among each of their clubs. But Ballyvary hurling club, which was founded in 2005 and only fields at underage level, has been excluded from the allocation list and is calling on Mayo county board to reverse its decision and "honour the spirit of the donation".
