Mayo are to follow in the footsteps of many counties and appoint a full time Commercial Manager.

County Board chairman Mike Connelly informed club delegates of the need for such a position to be filled, given the work involved in raising finances on an annual basis.

The cost of running county teams seems to be increasing on an annual basis and Connelly feels that the only way to work around this is to appoint someone on a full time basis.

"This organisation has gone too big," said Connelly. "The amount of monies we have to manage on an annual basis is huge. For us to be able to keep on top of it, you really wouldn't want any other job. It is a crucial part of business for Mayo GAA."
