Wexford senior hurling coach Seoirse Bulfin has confirmed that Jack Guiney is not currently part of the Slayneysiders' squad.

Recent reports had suggested that Guiney had been dropped from Davy Fitzgerald's squad but Bulfin has confirmed today that the Rathnure forward's absence is down to injury.

"Jack at the moment is obviously gone off the panel because he has been struggling with an injury right throughout the league. For the time being he is back with the club," Bulfin said at today's Leinster Hurling Championship launch.

"Being honest, when you have four games in 21 days, you can't really be carrying much of an injury. He is back there to get a bit of game time to see how he gets on. Hopefully down the line you never know what might happen."

Bar a slight knock to David Dunne, Wexford currently do not have any other injury worries ahead of the Leinster SHC opener against Dublin on May 20th.
