Galway preserved their unbeaten record with a comfortable 0-16 to 0-10 victory over Kildare at Newbridge.
With the Tribe already through to next Sunday's league final against Dublin and the Lilywhites already relegated, this game went with the formbook and looked like Top V Bottom as Kevin Walsh's men sealed a first-place finish on the final league table - some return to the top flight! Kildare's first year back in the first division has been less memorable.
The visitors led from start to finish and had ten different men on target, while Kildare's forlorn search for a long-overdue win (or draw) goes on.
Moorefield's Eanna O'Connor registered four times for the home side but they trailed by five points to two midway through the first half as Patrick Sweeney (2), Eoin Finnerty, Johnny Duane and Padraic Cunningham all scored for the Connacht outfit.
Sean Armstrong tagged on points either side of the break and half-time replacement Shane Walsh also got in on the act as Galway won at their ease.
